Nordri have started to sell the immerSUN Unit as a‘bolt-on’ addition to our solar PV installations. This piece of kit increases the percentage of the electricity generated by the installation which is actually used within the property, by reducing what is exported back to the grid.
In simple terms, during the day when the average customer is at work, the PV installation may be generating more electricity than is being used around the house. To prevent the surplus electricity being exported to the grid this sophisticated gadget diverts it to a heater, meaning that the homeowner gets an additional benefit from the installation.
The best part is that you still get paid the Export Tariff, which assumes that 50% of all electricity generated is exported to the grid. This assumption was made to simplify the system and make it much easier to administer. The immerSUN Unit means that you benefit from using up to 100% of the electricity generated by your solar panels, whilst also getting paid for exporting it! This is a win-win scenario!
